Family courts across the country have been criticized for exploiting innocent children and vulnerable parents for monetary gain. This system, which is supposed to protect and uphold the rights and best interests of children, has instead become a tool for profiting off of the pain and suffering of those caught within it.
Mommy’s Heart helps fit parents protect and defend their fundamental constitutional right, which is to direct the care, custody, and control of their children.
We aim to protect the rights of abused or neglected children and parents, who escaped domestic abuse and are facing legal and financial retaliation by their abusers.
Mommy’s Heart provides free legal and mental health services to survivors, so that no parent has to fear losing a child for reporting abuse.
Many families have reported being caught in a never-ending cycle of court hearings and legal fees. This has led to countless innocent children being separated from their loving parents and placed in harmful situations, all for the sake of financial gain.
Please read and support our proposed legislation, The Mommy’s Heart Fair and Just Family Court Reform Act for the Protection of Children and Equitable Legal Processes. It was introduced by Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright to the Judiciary Committee as A01154. Senator Cordell Cleare is sponsoring our bill in the Senate S6825. Our legislation is meant to deter abusers, protect survivors, and hinder lawfare.
